Privacy Policy

Suonu collects no data about you. It has no servers, no accounts and no analytics, and it makes no network calls at all.

The short version

We collect nothing. Not audio, not usage statistics, not crash reports, not an identifier of any kind.
The app makes no network requests. There is nowhere for data to go.
There is no account. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to.
No advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs that collect data — and so no consent dialog, because there is nothing to consent to.

The microphone

The tuner needs to hear your instrument, so the app asks for microphone access the first time you use it. What happens to that audio:

It is analysed on your device, as it arrives, to work out the pitch.
It is not recorded. Nothing is written to a file.
It is not transmitted. The app has no network code, so there is no path off the device.
The audio is held in memory only for as long as it takes to measure — a fraction of a second — and is then overwritten by the audio that follows.

You can decline microphone access. The metronome works without it; the tuner cannot, and the app says so rather than appearing broken.

What the app stores, and where

Deleting the app removes both stores.

What Apple handles, not us

The purchase. The unlock is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether a purchase is active. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account.
App Store figures. Apple gives developers aggregate, anonymised numbers such as download counts. That comes from Apple, is not collected by the app, and does not identify anyone.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for any age. It collects nothing from anyone, so it collects nothing from children either.

How the no-network claim is kept true

It is checked mechanically rather than promised. The build refuses to complete if network code, a web view, a tracking SDK or a remote address appears anywhere in the app's source — the check runs on every commit and tests itself against deliberately planted violations first, so a broken check cannot pass silently.

If a future version of Suonu needed a network connection for something, this page and the App Store privacy information would be updated to describe it before that version shipped. This page describes the version on the App Store today.

Your rights

Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. If you want to confirm that, email the address below and we will answer.
