The metronome makes no sound

Work down this list; the first two account for most of it.

The tuner shows nothing when I play

Check the microphone permission first

Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Suonu. Without it the app cannot hear anything, and it will say so rather than show a reading.

If the permission is on

The tuner refuses to guess. Silence, a room that is too noisy and a note too quiet to measure all report no reading instead of a number, because a number you cannot trust is worse than no number. Play a single note, closer to the phone, and let it ring.

It says the note is more than a semitone from any string

That is the app telling you what it actually heard. If you have a tuning selected and you play something well away from every string in it — a fretted note, a harmonic, another instrument in the room — Suonu names the note it heard and stops showing a cent figure, an arrow or a settled state.

It is deliberate. Pointing an arrow at the wrong string is how a string gets over-tightened, so the app states what it hears instead of instructing you toward a target you did not mean.

Restoring a purchase

On a new device, or after reinstalling: open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. Sign in with the same Apple Account you bought it with — Apple ties the purchase to the account, not to the device.

If the restore does not find it, check that you are signed in to the same Apple Account, then email us. We cannot see your purchases, so tell us the date and which Apple Account region you bought in, and Apple's records are what we ask you to check.

Reporting something wrong with a reading

Pitch bugs are worth reporting precisely, because they are reproducible. Tell us the instrument, the note you played, the note and Hz the app showed, and the tuning selected. That is enough to reproduce it against the test suite.
